E.W. Jarvis was an explorer and surveyor for the Canadian Pacific Railway surveys.
He was involved for several years:
- 1873 – led ‘M’ on Lillooet to the North Thompson River
- 1874 – led ‘M’ on the upper Fraser River near Tete Jaune Cache
- 1875 – walked over Smokey River Pass, led ‘M’ on the upper Fraser River
