H.O. Tiedemann was an explorer who led a CPR survey crew.
He was apparently in Victoria sometime before 1860 since the US Library of Congress contains a drawing[http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.gmd/g3514v.pm010750] by him of the Victoria Harbour at that time.
There is a glacier and mountain that is likely named by or after him near the head of Bute Inlet. He and his survey crew were in that area in 1872.
Explored during:
- 1872 – led ‘W‘ on a survey up the Homathco River.
- 1875 – led a trail building crew on the Homatcho River.
