CN intermodal (#5539 SD60F, #2436 Dash8-40CM) near Leanchoil on the CP mainline (about 30 kilometres east of Golden; Mile 17.6 Mountain Subdivision). An accident on the CN mainline forced trains along the CP tracks for several days. (August 15, 1996)

At this point the track parallels the Trans-Canada Highway and the photo is taken from the highway. Both the track and highway are following the Kicking Horse River which does a drastic turn to the north just upstream from here.
